“Freedom” captures the pure joy and heartfelt endless imagination of childhood, contrasted with the rules and pressures of grown-up life. This series aims to portray the vibrant and sometimes fantastical realm of childhood, where anything is possible and every day is a new adventure. Using lively colors and fluid shapes, each painting embraces those fleeting moments of spontaneous joy and the deep longing for freedom that resides within every child.
Diplopia series 2020
This series captures the intricate journey from childhood to adulthood, portraying the tough decisions we face along the way. Each painting reflects on the contrasting choices and conflicts we encounter as we step into grown-up responsibilities. Using symmetry and a unique paper-cutting technique, every artwork vividly portrays the inner struggle between opposing sides.
I created distinct shapes using paper cutouts, which were then strategically sprayed onto the canvas. Inspired by Greek mythology, the series adds depth to its story by symbolizing the ups and downs of personal growth and self-discovery. By drawing on these ancient tales, the artworks shed light on how our modern struggles echo timeless themes of courage, sacrifice, and finding our place in the world as we navigate the journey to adulthood.
